10A - Elevator Pitch No. 1

Pitch:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGvnmAm8S4U

9A - Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

The Opportunity: People who need groceries delivered lack a source of efficient services, for existing delivery companies do not deliver fast enough due to a high demand and inconvenient location. Grocery companies that deliver, such as Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Walmart and Publix, need to expand their delivering zones to make food delivery more convenient. As a result of these next five interviews that I conducted, I asked similar questions that I asked in part one. These questions included asking them if they get their groceries delivered and how often, what companies they use, what flaws they have noticed in the system, and why they think these flaws exist. However, these questions were asked to individuals who I assumed would have the same unmet need, but do not. Who: I found that those who have transportation and live in the suburbs fall outside the boundary of the opportunity that I have mentioned. Most who fall outside the boundary already have an ea...

8A - Solving the Problem

Selected Opportunity: There have been many incidents where a transportation company, such as Uber, has had drivers who have been a predator to his or her rider. There is an opportunity to prevent this from happening so frequently. Product/Service: I would like to introduce a service for transportation companies, such as Uber and Lyft, to improve the safety of their service. The service would be adamant about potential drivers requiring a nationwide FBI criminal background check, along with fingerprints on file. As of now, Uber only requires drivers to have a working car. While Uber claims to run DMV criminal background checks, many of their drivers were convicted of assault, battery, burglary, and reckless driving. Evidently, a chunk of Uber’s drivers are not completely reliable. My service would have an app where it connects to the rider. It would show them the credibility of the driver and if they have a clear background. This app would connect to the Lyft a...

7A - Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

Step 1: Hypothesis People who need groceries delivered lack a source of efficient services, for existing delivery companies do not deliver fast enough due to a high demand and inconvenient location. Step 2: Who: People who get their groceries delivered What: Most grocery delivery services can be very inefficient and slow when delivering to their customers. Why: Grocery stores, such as Publix, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s, only deliver to specific areas and zones. These services also sometimes take a long time to deliver the goods to the customer because of higher demand not matching with the amount of delivery people they have. Step 3: Interviews Interview 1: (College student, 20-year-old) ·       Do you get groceries delivered? If so, how often? o    Yes, I get my groceries delivered once a week. I do not have any transportation in Gainesville other than on foot. ·       If y...
