20A - Growing Your Social Capital

1.      One person must be a domain expert in your industry. I contacted the manager of Publix from my hometown, whom I have been familiar with for years. He has been the manager of this Publix for over 20 years and has great knowledge on the industry. I contacted him by calling the Publix and asked to speak to him. We discussed the issues that I brought up about grocery delivery and he understood my points about the lack of convenience, due to the delivery zone limits. If he went out of his way to help me with this, I would be most appreciative.   2.      One must be an expert on your market. I decided to contact someone from the law firm that I interned for this past summer. The office I worked for was the foreclosure/accounting office and they deal with areas all over the nation, including Alachua County. While the firm does not handle grocery stores, the person I contacted has great knowledge and experience on conduct...

19A - Idea Napkin No. 2

1.      I am Nicolette Giordano and my strong skills consist of working and communicating well with others. I aspire to network with others as I go through the next three years of college and beyond. Grocery stores have limited zones, according to mile radius, where they decide to deliver to. Consequently, some areas are left out of the delivery zone. In addition, these grocery stores tak...

18A - Create a Customer Avatar

Image
For my segment, the prototypical customer is someone who is does not have transportation. Most whom I have related to this topic to were college students, who live in a college town. While not all people who get their groceries delivered are college students, most of these customers are busy and do not want to waste time on going to the grocery store and strolling up and down the isles for food. The customer also may be more likely to be living on a budget, for grocery shopping online prevents impulse buys. Someone who grocery shops online is not likely to have children because parents have the responsibility of feeding their whole family very frequently and usually have a car. Many parents tend to have the need to grocery shop a few times a week. I am similar to the customer because I am a college student, who lives in a college town without transportation. I find it hard to find the time to walk or uber to Publix for groceries. It takes a big chunk of time out of my ...
