30A - Final Reflection
1. Read through your posts from this semester. Recall all of the experiences you've had a long the way -- the highs, the lows -- the fun moments, and the moments of drudgery, and even the moments of dread.
In this past semester, throughout this class, I have been exposed to many things that will prepare me for the future. I am grateful to have been exposed to elevator pitching, networking, and coming up with an entrepreneurial plan. I have also experienced lows; however, I have taken these failures and turned them into something to learn from. Celebrating failure has given me better insight in constant improvement.
2. What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing?
The most formative experience was coming up with the venture plan because I came up with a full, thought-out plan for a business. The experience that I will remember years later will probably be the networking exercise because I really got the most exposure out of it. It made me reach out of my comfort zone by contacting people I would not have reached out to on my own. The networking exercise was the experience I was most proud of myself for accomplishing.
3. At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Now, at the end, do you see yourself as an entrepreneur? Do you think you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset?
I think I have definitely moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset, compared to the beginning of the semester. While I have improved my mindset, I still need to work on improving particular entrepreneurial skills more, such as risk taking and networking.
4. What is the one recommendation you would make to the students who are going to journey down this path in the future? What would you recommend they do to perform best in this course? What would you recommend they do to foster that mindset?
I would recommend students who are journeying toward entrepreneurship to be very careful and analytical before making decisions. For example, when starting up a business, one must first know particular people and have access to essential resources. Without a good foundation and a clear plan and strategy in mind, failure is inevitable.

Nicolette,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that this course can really help us to think like an entrepreneur and build that mindset. First of all, I learned that an entrepreneur is about to identify the opportunity and find a practical solution that can solve it while making a profit. Overall, I also learned a lot of things in this course. I'll recommend this valuable course to my friends.
Nicolette,
ReplyDeleteI see that you've mentioned well-preparedness as one of the most important key qualities that an entrepreneur can establish before starting one's own business. I agree greatly with that opinion since starting a business can make you encounter various situations that one could possibly not foresee. However, I believe that since such are the circumstances the ability to quickly adapt to changes and sudden events is also a very important quality that an entrepreneur should have.
