17A - Elevator Pitch No. 2

While I recorded an improved elevator pitch, there were technical difficulties in uploading the video to my YouTube channel due to it being an “incompatible media file.” However, from my first elevator pitch, I received positive feedback saying that I was clear and concise on my idea and my solutions for the issue. My audience stated that I was persuasive and related the issue to them well. The changes that I made to the elevator pitch were based more on speaker skills. One alteration that I made was that I talked slower so my audience would absorb the information better. I understand that when a speaker talks too fast, it is hard to let the new information sink in and the audience forgets what was said. In addition, I tried my best to talk into the camera more, for eye contact is crucial for engagement and in catching the audience’s attention.

  1. Nicolette,
I think you did an excellent elevator pitch for the first assignment. I have to say that you are very clear and concise through the pitch. First, you identified the opportunity. Second, you provide a solution to that opportunity. The delivery of the pitch is very organized and informative. I agree with you that by slow down the speed of the pitch can improve audience engagement.

  2. Nicolette,
I had commented on your first elevator pitch, and I did mention that you were clear and concise. I also mentioned that you seemed to be confident and thus more persuasive with the messages you are trying to send to the audience. Sorry for the technical difficulties. The same thing happened to me last assignment, and it was stressful trying to find a solution for it.
